PROFIL
Un magnifique mélange de métal et de rock mélodique, voilà ce qui pourrait décrire la musique de D. En peu de temps, ce groupe est devenu populaire parce qu’il est assez différent de la plupart des groupes de visual kei indépendants.
Leurs points forts sont, sans aucun doute, leur chanteur et la diversité dans leurs compositions. Leur discographie inclut du son « heavy », des chansons menées par la guitare comme Face ou Vampire Missa, des belles ballades telles que Tsukiyou no Koi Uta… Quelque soit le style, leurs chansons sont toujours enrichies par le chant exceptionnel d’ASAGI qu’il travaille depuis des années. Mais la clé de leur succès est sans doute l’expérience que chaque membre a acquise dans leurs précédents groupes.

BIOGRAPHIE
D est crée en mars 2003 par ASAGI, Ruiza et Sin, accompagné de Rena et HIROKI(ex-Aioria et ex-S to M). Le chanteur et les guitaristes jouaient ensemble dans Syndrome, un ancien groupe de Kisaki. Cependant, ils ont commencé leurs carrières bien avant : ASAGI était le chanteur de Balsamic et de Je*Reviens, Ruiza, le guitariste de Distray et Laybial et Sin faisait partie de With-Sexy, NEO-SADISM et Vasalla.
Syndrome s’est séparé en 2002 mais ASAGI,Ruiza ainsi que Sin veulent continuer à jouer ensemble en fondant D avec Rena et HIROKI.Leur premier concert se déroule en Avril 2003 puis ils participent au Shock Jam 2003 aux côtés de « stars » du visual kei comme Nightmare ou Lareine. En juillet, ils sortent leur premier mini-album New Blood.
Malheureusement, les évènements ne tournent plus en leur faveur. Sin décide de quitter le groupe alors que Ruiza est hospitalisé deux mois après. D ne sombre pas pour autant et les deux guitaristes sont temporairement remplacés par HIDE-ZOU (ex-chanteur de As’REAL et guitariste de S to M) et Tetsu (ex-Domestic Child). Ils continuent donc leurs activités mais sous un autre nom : Night of the Children.
En peu de temps, HIDE-ZOU devient un membre officiel, Ruiza retrouve son groupe et Tetsu forme Gimikku avec Ayano (ex-Vidoll).
D revient alors sous de meilleurs jours et fait son premier concert en solo, Believe or not Believe, le 27 novembre au Meguro Rock Maykan. Le single Alice est distribué pendant ce concert. En 2004, le mini-album Paradox, rapidement “sold out”, se place au 13ème rang dans l’ORICON Indies et attire plus de fans. Cet album est bien connu pour la fameuse chanson Night-ship “D” sur laquelle les fans font, lors des concerts, une chorégraphie dirigée par Asagi, avec un drapeau spécial. En mai, ils jouent en oneman, Yume narishi kuuchuu teien, et offrent une VHS. Six jours après, ils sortent un single portant le même nom que ce concert. Celui-ci a encore plus de succès que le précédent disque, ce qui le classe à la 5ème place dans le classement ORICON Indies. Puis, ils enchaînent les concerts de mai à août.
En novembre, pendant trois concerts, ils vendent trois versions différentes du single Mayutsuki no Hitsugi. A la fin de l’année, ils rééditent leur premier mini-album, cette fois intitulé New Blood - second impact et en janvier 2005, un nouveau single est dans les bacs. Pendant quelques mois, D se concentrent sur les concerts tandis qu’ils enregistrent yami yori kurai doukoku no acapella to bara yori akai jounetsu no aria pour juin 2005. La chanson titre est tirée de la comédie musicale THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA et c’est sans surprise que le groupe nomme de la même manière le concert accompagnant ce single.
Durant l’enregistrement de leur premier album, Rena abandonne le groupe, ce qui n’arrête pas D et HIDE-ZOU le remplace à la basse. La sortie de l’album The name of the ROSE, prevue pour le 28 septembre, n’est donc pas retardée. HIDE-ZOU joue à la place de Rena aux différents concerts dont ceux du “coupling tour” avec D’espairs Ray et le festival commémorant la publication du premier numéro de Mad Tea Party, le magazine réalisé par D : Mad Tea Party.
Le 5 décembre, Tsunehito (ex-SCISSOR) intègre D permettant à HIDE-ZOU de reprendre la guitare. Le même jour, le making of du clip Sleeper est distribué gratuitement lors d’un concert. Avec son nouveau membre, le groupe réenregistre son février premier album en y ajoutant trois nouvelles chansons. C’est ainsi qu’est mis en vente, le 8 février 2006, The name of the ROSE tsuujou ban qui est suivi des rééditions de Yume narishi kuuchuu teien et Paradox en mai puis d’un single en août. Devenant de plus en plus populaire, D distribue son deuxième album Tafel Anatomie. La même année, Ruiza et ASAGI démarrent leur carrière solo.
Leur premier DVD Live D Tafel Anatomie TOUR2006~ et Dearest you s’ajoutent à leur discographie respectivement en mars et mai 2007. Ils parcipent en juin au dixième anniversaire du Takadanobaba AREA et au Fool’s fest 07.
Pour leur nouveau single ouka saki some ni keri, ils assurent une tournée en solo qui s’intitule Neo culture et compte treize dates en juillet et août ; le dernier concert se déroule en plein air à Tokyo le 25 août.

PROFILE
A wonderful mixture of metal and melodic rock - that's the best way to describe D's music. It wasn't long after the band's formation that they gained popularity and success, probably because they're quite different from your average visual indie band.
Their strongest points are, without a doubt, the vocals and variety of their compositions. Their discography includes heavy, guitar songs like 'Face' or 'Vampire Missa' as well as beautiful, melancholic ballads such as 'Tsukiyou no Koi Uta'. No matter the style, the songs are always a display of Asagi's vocal abilities. His voice can truly charm, and no wonder - he's been working on it and improving in various bands even before D. And that is probably the key to the band's success - the experience of its members, all of whom have played in various bands before.

BIOGRAPHY
D was created in March 2003 by Asagi, Ruiza and Sin together with Rena and Hiroki. The first three of them had already played together before - in Kisaki's band Syndrome. However, they all begun their careers much earlier - Asagi used to be the vocalist in Balsamic and Je*Reviens, Ruiza played in Distray and Laybial, while Sin used to be a member of With Sexy, NEO-SADISM and Vasalla.
After Syndrome broke up in 2002, Asagi, Ruiza and Sin decided to continue playing together, and together with two other members - Rena and Hiroki (the latter of whom played in Aioria and S to M before) they formed D. From the beginning they kept a fast pace - their first live took place in April 2003, and during Shock Jam 2003 they performed amongst such stars of the visual kei scene as Nightmare or Lareine. In July that same year they released their first mini-album entitled 'New Blood'.
Unfortunatelly things didn't go perfect. First, shortly before the release date of 'New Blood', Sin decided to quit the band. Less than two months later Ruiza was suddenly hospitalized; In order to continue, the band had to find replacement members. The line up was temporarily completed by Hide-zou (former vocalist of As'REAL and guitarist of S to M) and Tetsu (Domestic Child). During that period, they continued to perform under a different name - Night of the Children.
Soon afterwards Hide-zou joined the band as an official member. With Ruiza back from the hospital, Tetsu left the band to create, together with Ayano (ex-Vidoll) a new project called Gimikku.
D got back on its feet and quickly back to its original name, and on November 27th, 2003 they performed their first one man live, Belive or not believe in Meguro Rock May Kan. A single entitled 'Alice' was distributed during that concert.
2004 begun with a release of another mini album, 'Paradox'. This record proved a huge success; it sold out very fast, achieving the 13th rank on Oricon indie charts and enlarging D's fanbase. This is the album that one of D's most popular song comes from, 'Night-ship "D"'. During live performances, fans bring special D-flags and wave them synchronically to this song, following Asagi's instructions.
May 6th, 2004 was yet another important moment in D's history. On that day the band played another one man live, Yume narishi kuuchuu teien, during which they distributed a free VHS. Six days later they released a single under the same title and achieved even more success - it sold out faster than the previous record, and hit #5 on the Oricon indie charts.
From then on things went smoothly. From May to August their schedule was filled with concerts. In November, during three gigs, they sold three different versions of a single called 'Mayutsuki no Hitsugi'. Before the end of 2004 they also released a new version of their first mini album, 'New Blood - second impact', and in January (2005) another maxi-single hit the stores. For the following half a year D focused on performing live and gaining more fans.
June 22 witnessed the release of another single, 'yami yori kurai doukoku no acapella to bara yori akai jounetsu no aria'. The song was quite clearly inspired by the musical Phantom of the Opera (which is not surprising as their live tour was indeed called THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA). The single came with what the fans had been long waiting for, a DVD containing a PV. That wasn't the biggest surprise of the year though, as soon afterwards the band announced the release of their first full-length album.
And they kept their word, despite the fact that in July, in the middle of the recording, Rena suddenly left the band. It didn't stop them, Hide-zou replaced Rena on bass and the album was released without any delay. The name of the ROSE again came with a DVD, this time in two different versions each contained a different PV. Hide-zou continued to play the bass also during the summer performances, which included a coupling tour with D'espairsRay and an event commemorating the publication of the first issue of D's very own magazine, Mad Tea Party.
On December 5th a new member officially joined D - it was Tsunehito, from the freshly disbanded SCISSOR, and Hide-zou could go back to playing the guitar. On that same day a DVD containing making of Sleeper PV was distributed for free during a live. Together with the new member the band re-recorded their first full album and released a new version, with three additional songs recorded with Tsunehito in February.
That wasn't the only re-release of the year; new editions of their long sold-out and sought-after records, Yume narishi kuuchuu teien and Paradox, came out in May. August witnessed the release of a new single, the first truly new CD recorded with Tsunehito. Still in that same year they also released, not surprisingly considering their huge and ever growing popularity, a second full album, 'Tafel Anatomie'.
D's obviously doing great, their first live DVD is scheduled for release in March 2007, and we can only expect more good things to come in the future!
